The number of racist crimes in Brandenburg in the first half of this year remained at the same high level as in the same period last year. From January to June, the police registered 88 criminal offenses such as bodily harm, incitement to hatred, threats, property damage and the use of anti-constitutional license plates, as the Ministry of the Interior announced in response to a request from state parliamentarian Andrea Johlige (left).

In the first six months of last year there were 91 cases. According to the police, there were a total of 208 such offenses in 2021. In the first Corona year 2020, this number dropped to 113, which could be related to the pandemic restrictions. In 2019, 210 racially motivated crimes were registered.
