Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, stated Monday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 but is feeling fine and will continue to work remotely.

He tweeted the announcement, asking everyone to get vaccinated. Trudeau stated on Thursday that he would be going into isolation for five nights after learning the following evening that he had been in touch with a positive person. According to Trudeau, the person was one of his children. Trudeau had previously been isolated from his home during the first months of the pandemic.

Canada has one the highest levels of coronavirus vaccinations in the world. These shots are designed to prevent those who get infected from becoming seriously ill.

This announcement came after a weekend of protests against lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and masks in Ottawa, Canada. Some demonstrators drove in convoys of trucks and parked their vehicles on streets surrounding Parliament Hill to block traffic.
