A white kangaroo caused a lot of excitement on Autobahn 44 near Mönchengladbach. A spokesman for the motorway police in Düsseldorf reported that a hunter was alerted because police officers were unable to catch the marsupial that kept jumping away on Wednesday night.
A passer-by spotted the white kangaroo at 4:15 a.m. on the Mönchengladbach-Odenkirchen driveway. The animal then gradually moved from the edge of the road to the Holz motorway junction. It escaped officers when it eventually disappeared into the nearby wooded area.
However, there was an “acute danger” that the kangaroo would return to the highway, said a spokesman for the highway police in Düsseldorf. Therefore, a hunter was notified. He then decided to kill the marsupial. The fatal shot was fired at around 6 a.m.
