US President Biden is said to be corona positive again, according to a statement from the White House. Accordingly, an antigen test by the President late Saturday morning is said to have been positive after he had been tested negative for the corona virus every day since Tuesday evening.
Previously, there had been reports of so-called recurring positivity after taking the drug Paxlovid. Due to this phenomenon, Biden underwent daily corona tests after taking this drug. Developments are being monitored closely, but we are currently refraining from repeat treatment with Paxlovid.
Biden himself wrote on Twitter: “It only happens to a minority of people.” However, the US President said he was fine. According to his doctor Kevin O’Connor, he should not show any symptoms.
Nevertheless, the US President will isolate himself again to protect employees of the White House, the secret services and all employees who have close contact with him. Biden tweeted that he was still working and would be “back” soon.
According to the White House, Biden’s corona infection was detected on Thursday last week. He had spent five days in isolation and, according to the doctor, was treated with the Covid 19 drug Paxlovid during this time. Biden kept his appointments by video and telephone.
