Several bullet casings were found on the ground in a residential area in Town of Mount-Royal on Saturday morning. However, no suspect has been arrested and the circumstances surrounding this case remain unclear at this time.
It was around 8:50 a.m. that the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported having been called to go to Manella Road, near Duncan Road, after a citizen had contacted 911 to report the presence sockets on the ground.
On site, the first patrol officers were able to identify “several casings”, confirms agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
The scene was protected by a police perimeter in order to let the investigators and forensic identification technicians do their work of searching for clues. The investigation was still ongoing late Saturday afternoon.
So far, the exact circumstances surrounding the discovery of these bullets “remain unknown”, said Ms. Chèvrefils.
“Following police checks, no bullet holes were located. People from the neighborhood were met and they did not hear any shots fired during the evening and the night,” the spokeswoman also said.
