(Shawinigan) One person is missing and two others suffered minor injuries in a fire in Shawinigan, Mauricie, on Saturday afternoon.
The two injured were transported to a hospital after inhaling smoke as well as to treat burns, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The police were called to assist firefighters for the fire in this six-unit building located on Saint-Marc Avenue, near Notre-Dame Street.
Checks are underway to locate the missing tenant, in particular to find out if he was in his apartment at the time of the fire, said SQ spokesperson Hélène St-Pierre.
In the early evening, the fire was still raging, she said. Nearby residences were evacuated as a precaution.
