(Paris) An armed robbery took place on Saturday in the luxury jewelry store Bulgari, located on the emblematic Place Vendôme in Paris, for an estimated value of several million euros, we learned from the police. and parquet.

According to the first elements, three individuals aboard two motorcycles showed up at the jewelry store around 1:45 p.m., said a police source.

Two of them were carrying long guns, she said, adding that they had hit the security guard.

The damage estimated at “several million euros was still being assessed” late Saturday afternoon, a source close to the investigation told AFP.

On videos posted on social networks that seem to correspond to the robbery, we see two imposing black motorcycles parked on the sidewalk in front of the jewelry store. A helmeted, armed man dressed in black keeps watch.

Then the three men fled on the two motorcycles, according to the images.

The Bulgari jewelry store had already been the subject of an armed robbery in September 2021, the value of which was estimated at 10 million euros (about 15 million Canadian dollars).

Among the team of robbers, one had been injured in the leg by a police officer. Arrested, he was charged and imprisoned.

In June 2022, two other suspects were arrested and charged. They are also in pre-trial detention.
