Italian President Sergio Mattarella has rejected Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s resignation. Mattarella called on Draghi to report to Parliament and assess the situation, his headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

After weeks of disputes in his governing coalition, Draghi announced his resignation. He wanted to submit his resignation to President Sergio Mattarella in the evening, Draghi told his cabinet on Thursday, according to his office.
