Iran claims to have responded to the EU’s proposal to save the 2015 international nuclear deal. “We exchanged our substantive and formal proposals to pave the way for a quick conclusion of the negotiations in Vienna,” Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

Iran is ready to conclude the negotiations in a short time if the other side is willing to take the same step. However, he did not give details of the Iranian position.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said a few days ago that he had proposed a new draft text. This is intended to revive the agreement in which Iran restricts its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear deal in 2018 and re-imposed US sanctions on Iran. As a result, the country began violating the rules set out in the agreement.
