In Weißensee, a bus driver on line X54 was attacked and injured on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, around 4:25 p.m. the 62-year-old had pointed out the existing mask requirement in vehicles to a passenger who was not wearing a mouth and nose cover at the Rennbahnstraße/Gustav-Adolf-Straße stop. As a result, the stranger is said to have initially expressed his displeasure and then hit the head of the BVG employee. The suspect then fled undetected in the direction of Gustav-Adolf-Strasse. The bus driver, who complained of a headache after the attack, was treated on an outpatient basis and then ended his service. The police are investigating.
