(Montreal) A collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle occurred Monday evening in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville sector, in Montreal. An 83-year-old woman was seriously injured.

The accident occurred around 8 p.m. at the corner of Avenue Papineau and Boulevard Henri-Bourrassa.

According to information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), following the impact with the car, the lady was transported to a hospital center while she was unconscious.

Doctors consider his state of health critical, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Henri-Bourrassa Boulevard before hitting the lady who was crossing southbound, just before Papineau Avenue. She was then between two intersections where there is no pedestrian crossing.

The driver would not have seen her as she was moving. He stopped at the scene at the time of impact and suffered a nervous shock. He will be met by specialist collision investigators.
