Auction for $870,000: An unopened copy of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda, which was produced in 1987, has been sold.

Heritage Auctions Dallas reported that the video game was sold Friday.

According to the auction house, it is a rare edition that was made during a short production run in late 1987. The Legend of Zelda, a popular fantasy adventure video game, was released for the first time in 1986.

Valarie McLeckie (Heritage’s videogame specialist) stated in a statement that “The Legend of Zelda marks one of the most important gaming sagas; its historical importance can’t be understated… it’s a true collectors piece.”

The auction house sold an unopened copy Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. that was purchased in 1986 but left behind in a desk drawer for $660,000.
