From the point of view of British intelligence, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is increasingly in a position of weakness. It is likely that officers and soldiers do not take the minister seriously because of an ineffective and unrealistic leadership style, according to a report published in London on Monday.
The British side also said that Shoigu was no longer informing President Putin about the course of the invasion, but rather the commanders directly responsible for operations in the various parts of the country.
Before being appointed minister, Shoigu spent most of his career in construction and other areas. He lacks military experience.
