(OTTAWA) Canada is temporarily suspending its activities in Sudan, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announced Sunday morning.
“We have taken the decision to temporarily suspend our operations in Sudan. Our diplomats are safe and working from outside the country,” Ms. Joly wrote on Twitter.
She assures that the government remains in contact with Canadians who are in Sudan, where a conflict has been raging for more than a week.
