The controversial party song “Layla” should apparently be heard on the “ZDF TV Garden” next Sunday. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the public broadcaster when asked by the media.

The song came into focus just over a week ago after a folk festival in Würzburg completely banned the playing of “Layla” at the event. Other songs with sexist content were also banned from the festival.

A debate about the lyrics of the song, which is about a prostitute, was then sparked on social networks. The song has been number 1 in the German single charts for weeks.

In Münster, the hit should not be played at the “Send” folk festival either. At the Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf, a DJ had recently played an instrumental version as a compromise.
