British Prime Minister Boris Johnson considers the behavior of Russian President Vladimir Putin to be a good example of toxic masculinity, i.e. a role model based on callousness, harshness and also aggressiveness.

In an interview with ZDF on Tuesday evening, Johnson questioned whether there would be a war in Ukraine at all if a female president were in power in Russia. “You just need more women in positions of power,” Johnson said.

“If Putin were a woman, I don’t think he would have started such a crazy, macho war,” he continued. “If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, here we have it.”

Johnson recently likened supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia to fighting Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. The price for freedom is worth paying, he said.
