Hagen Brandstätter, the acting director of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), is absent for several weeks due to illness. The broadcaster confirmed a corresponding report by RBB24 to the Tagesspiegel. It is not yet clear who will run the business of the RBB instead of Brandtäter.
Brandstäter took over the official business after Patricia Schlesinger’s resignation. The former director has since been recalled by the Broadcasting Council.
At the weekend, ARD chairman Tom Buhrow collectively withdrew trust from the RBB management on behalf of the other directors of the broadcasting family and suggested that the broadcaster management resign immediately. So far there has been no reaction from the RBB.
