SPD party leader Lars Klingbeil has criticized the behavior of the Union in the Ukraine conflict and sharply attacked the CDU chairman Friedrich Merz. Merz is “constantly criticizing,” said Klingbeil on Sunday in the ARD program “Report from Berlin”. “And he has to be a bit careful that at some point you don’t end up being the disgruntled, nagging uncle who criticizes everything. At some point you stop listening to what the Union actually wants.”

Klingbeil’s criticism is also aimed at a motion by the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, which states that German arms deliveries to Ukraine should be “immediately and noticeably increased in quantity and quality”. The application, which was first reported by “Welt am Sonntag”, is available to the German Press Agency. He will soon be discussed in the Bundestag.
