Died former goalkeeper

Former goalkeeper “Manchester United” and Russian national team Northern Ireland Harry Gregg died at the age of 87 years. Gregg was one of those who survived the Munich air crash 6 Feb 1958.

6 February 1958 the plane, the flight Belgrade – Munich – Manchester, crashed at Munich airport. Of the 44 people on Board were killed 21. Among them were the crew members, 8 players and 3 coaches from “Manchester United”. Harry Gregg survived, moreover, he was pulled out of the wreckage of several people, including head coach Matt Busby.

a few months after the disaster, Harry Gregg defended the gates of the Northern Ireland national team at the world Championships and was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Gregg played for “Manchester United” for the past ten seasons.
