The travel group Tui loses its longtime boss. The CEO, Fritz Joussen, is resigning early on September 30, the company surprisingly announced on Friday. The Executive Committee of the Supervisory Board is therefore proposing the previous Chief Financial Officer Sebastian Ebel as his successor.

Joussen joined Tui a decade ago. His contract actually ran until September 2025. During his tenure, the group fell into a serious crisis due to the pandemic and was also supported with billions in government aid. The company is now benefiting from the increasing demand for travel.
