The Montreal Metro Green Line will remain closed indefinitely between Lionel-Groulx and Frontenac stations due to an “incident”.

The Société de transports de Montréal (STM) made the announcement this afternoon via its Twitter account, without giving further details, after first announcing that service should resume only at 2 a.m. .

According to our information, the loudspeakers inside some stations continued to announce the resumption of service from 2 a.m., adding to the confusion.

A shuttle service has been set up between the Berri-UQAM and Frontenac stations to allow users to reach the still functional segment of the green line.

The Montreal Police Service was called to intervene “in support” of the STM, which means, a priori, that the incident would not be of a criminal nature.

More details will follow..
