CDU and Greens in Schleswig-Holstein want to achieve climate neutrality for the state by 2040, further expand renewable energies including wind power on land and significantly speed up planning and approval processes. In addition to strengthening internal security, this is one of the core goals that both parties agreed on in their coalition negotiations.
The 24-person main negotiating round approved the 244-page coalition agreement on Wednesday, which the eight-person steering group had finally dealt with the previous evening. Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) said on Wednesday in Kiel that he was proud to present the contract: “It’s an ambitious program.”
The aim is to govern the country reliably for five years, said Green Finance Minister Monika Heinold. “The coalition agreement is a future-oriented basis for this.” Both parties share a great will to shape things. Climate and species protection are central tasks for her party.
Both party congresses are expected to approve the coalition agreement next Monday. There is no doubt about it. Günther’s re-election as prime minister in the state parliament is scheduled for two days later. After that, his new cabinet is to be sworn in in Parliament.
The Greens want to propose to their state party conference that their co-lead candidate Aminata Touré (29) becomes Minister of Social Affairs. Heinold (63) should remain finance minister, Environment Secretary Tobias Goldschmidt should rise to minister.
