Shortly after US President Joe Biden’s visit, the Israeli Air Force attacked targets in the Palestinian Gaza Strip. The Israeli military announced on Saturday that a rocket factory operated by the radical Islamic group Hamas was hit in the center of the Gaza Strip. Witnesses reported that the site was being used as a training camp.

Sirens sounded twice in southern Israel on Saturday morning, warning of rocket fire. According to military information, a missile was intercepted and three more missiles fell in open terrain. No one initially claimed responsibility for the rocket fire. In the past, Hamas, which rules Gaza, has repeatedly fired rockets into Israeli territory.

Biden began his trip to the Middle East in Israel on Wednesday, where he met Prime Minister Jair Lapid. On Friday, Biden consulted with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank. The US President then traveled on to Saudi Arabia, where on Friday evening after meeting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, he gave a positive summary of his first talks in the kingdom.
