Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin has described Britain’s bill to unilaterally amend Northern Ireland’s Brexit arrangements as a “fundamental breach of trust”. The head of government of the EU member called on London on Tuesday on the Sky News TV channel for serious talks. “So far, the British government has lacked the will to really solve this through negotiations. And it is now high time that substantive negotiations began in earnest.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government presented a bill on Monday that would unilaterally change the provisions of the Northern Ireland Protocol agreed in the Brexit Treaty. London wants to force Brussels to reopen the agreement that was only agreed in 2019. The EU Commission strictly excludes this.
