Katja Orschmann from 1. FC Union is Berlin’s amateur footballer of the season, Philipp indicator from VSG Altglienicke won for the men, and Altglienicke’s coach Karsten Heine was voted Berlin’s amateur coach. The Berlin Football Association (BFV) announced on Monday that more than 10,000 Berliners cast their votes in the election. Previously, Grischa Prömel from TSG Hoffenheim, who was still under contract with 1. FC Union last season, had been voted Berlin professional footballer of the season.
Orschmann won with 53.05 percent ahead of her club colleague Sandra Weihmann (12.05 percent) and Leylila Aydin from Türkiyemspor (8.66). Pointer prevailed with 38.06 percent ahead of regional league top scorer Christian Beck from Northeast champions BFC Dynamo (26.70) and Tarik Gözüsirin from Lichtenberg 47 (10.43).
