(Quebec) At the beginning of the year, the Legault government had received a preliminary version of the study which led to the abandonment of the Quebec-Lévis highway tunnel project, while the decision was announced four months later.

This was indicated by the Minister of Transport, Geneviève Guilbault, in a parliamentary committee on Tuesday morning.

The minister said she had a first draft on January 27. However, she announced the decision to abandon the highway project on April 20, to keep only the public transport component.

The opposition parties suspect the Legault government of knowing for a long time that the proposed link was not feasible and of having campaigned in 2022 under false representations.
