Finance Minister Christian Lindner wants to say yes to his fiancé Franca Lehfeldt next weekend. Sylt – the island of the rich and beautiful – is to serve as the wedding backdrop.
It had already become known in October 2021 that the FDP leader and the political reporter for the Springer newspaper “Welt” had become engaged.
Preparations for the celebrations have been in full swing for weeks.
The civil wedding will take place on Thursday, July 7th in the “Sölring-Museum” on Sylt. There are four permanent registrars on the island. Nevertheless, the mayor of the municipality of Sylt, Nikolas Häckel (independent), does not take the chance to trust the political celebrity couple himself, as he reported to the German Press Agency (dpa).
The date for the civil marriage should have been chosen deliberately. According to various media reports, Christian Lindner and Franca Lehfeldt met on July 7, 2018, as well as the “Spiegel” reports.
After the bureaucratic part, the couple and the guests should stop off in the Kampen restaurant “Vogelkoje”, reports “Bild”. The traditional house was known as a “historic duck trapping site” until 1921, as the restaurant writes.

The church wedding will take place on Saturday, July 9th. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Severin in Keitum was chosen as the location. The fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer is said to have said yes to his partner here in 2018.
