DJI recently launched its new Mavic 4 Pro drone, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. After checking out tons of drones, I used to think that smaller, lighter, and cheaper ones were the way to go for most people. Premium drones just seemed like overkill. But the Mavic 4 Pro totally won me over with its premium price tag and jumbo size. Seriously, this drone is next level.
Not that you can get your hands on it in the US just yet. DJI is still working out some kinks with flight restrictions and security concerns. They’re not giving us a timeline for when it will hit the market here, but you can at least drool over it on B&H Photo for $2,699. So, there’s a glimmer of hope, right? Fingers crossed it’ll be available soon.
Camera Magic
The standout feature of the Mavic 4 Pro is its camera setup. It’s got not one, not two, but three cameras to play with. And let me tell you, they’re all top-notch. The star of the show is a new 4/3 sensor that can capture stunning 100 MP photos and 6K video at 60 fps. Plus, it boasts 16 stops of dynamic range, adjustable aperture, and a range of focal lengths to choose from. It’s a filmmaker’s dream come true.
Flight Finesse
When it comes to flying, the Mavic 4 Pro doesn’t disappoint. With a battery life of 51 minutes, improved aerodynamics for faster and quieter flights, and a front-facing Lidar sensor for better situational awareness, this drone is a beast in the sky. Plus, its tracking capabilities and return-to-home features have been upgraded for a smoother flying experience. And let’s not forget about the controller upgrade, which takes the whole flying experience to a whole new level.
Verdict
All in all, the Mavic 4 Pro is a major upgrade from its predecessor and definitely worth the investment if you’re serious about aerial photography and videography. Sure, it’s not cheap, but the value it brings to the table is undeniable. If you’re just looking to snap a few pics here and there, you might want to stick with something more budget-friendly. But if you’re in the market for a drone that can do it all, the Mavic 4 Pro is the way to go. Let’s just hope DJI can sort out the logistics so we can get our hands on this beauty in the US soon.
