On Friday, the first tenants of the high-rise building at Leipziger Strasse 40 in Mitte, which had been evacuated at the end of May due to water damage, were able to return to their apartments. This was announced by Matthias Borowski, spokesman for the municipal housing association WBM.

However, the central building authority only allows people to return to the apartments from the 13th floor upwards. The office is thus partially lifting the blocking of the building ordered on May 28, 2022. “Tenants who are not yet able to move back into their apartment will of course continue to be accommodated by us free of charge if necessary and can also be accommodated for a short time at selected times if accompanied to their apartments,” Borowski said.

WBM will answer all questions about moving back in on Tel. 247144 44 (Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
