In a controversial interview on the British breakfast program Good Morning Britain, former SLEC CEO Bernie Ecclestone emphasized his close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sitting in front of a sea backdrop, the entrepreneur said he would “still walk through fire” for him.

By invading Ukraine, Putin merely did what he thought was the right thing for Russia to do. The Russian President is a “first-rate person,” the entrepreneur continued.

In view of the war of aggression that Putin is currently waging in Ukraine, Ecclestone’s statements on social networks are causing controversial discussions.

That Putin, like himself, is a business person “who makes mistakes from time to time” is the biggest admission Ecclestone makes in this interview.

According to Eccelstone, the “person in Ukraine” is “a comedian” who continues to work. In the course of the interview, the entrepreneur does not even mention the name of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy.

The billionaire, on the other hand, sees responsibility for the war with the Ukrainian president. He missed speaking to Putin. “If he had thought enough, he would have tried to talk to Putin about it,” said the motorsport official. The Russian President is a reasonable person who listens and “did something”.
