(Montreal) Nearly 30,000 Hydro-Quebec customers found themselves without power on Sunday morning.

The Montérégie and Lanaudière regions are the most affected, with respectively more than 11,000 and 10,000 customers without power around 8:45 a.m., according to the Info-pannes website.

Several outages began shortly after midnight due to equipment failure.

It is unclear whether weather conditions were the cause of the outages.

A snow warning is in progress in several regions of Quebec, where 15 to 25 centimeters are expected by Sunday morning.

In Ontario, high winds knocked out more than 21,000 power customers Saturday night.
