The Montérégie and Lanaudière regions are the most affected, with respectively more than 10,000 and 7,000 customers without power around 10:30 a.m., according to the Info-pannes website.

Several outages began shortly after midnight due to equipment failure.

It is unclear whether weather conditions were the cause of the outages.

A snow warning is in progress in several regions of Quebec, where 15 to 25 centimeters are expected by Sunday morning.
