(Montreal) A 27-year-old Trifluvien died on the night of Friday to Saturday, after his SUV hit a Hydro-Quebec pole.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called around midnight on Notre-Dame Street West, when the driver was unconscious and trapped inside his vehicle. “Extrication pliers were needed to extricate the man from the wreckage of the vehicle,” the Trois-Rivières Police Department said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.
“Investigators will continue to work with the coroner’s office to try to determine the circumstances surrounding the death,” police said.
