Highway 10 was completely closed to traffic on Sunday in both directions due to a “police operation” by the Sûreté du Québec, which is asking motorists to avoid the area for the next few hours.
“A police operation is currently underway in the area of Highway 10, eastbound, at km 8 in Brossard. We ask motorists to avoid the area,” the Sûreté du Québec said in a brief statement early Sunday afternoon.
On Twitter, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) also confirmed the complete closure via Quebec 511, also speaking of a “police security operation”.
No other details have been provided by the authorities on the nature of the said operation.
