Man, 85, Charged with Murder of 81-Year-Old Woman in Down
An 85-year-old man has been charged with the murder of an 81-year-old woman in Co Down. Patricia Aust’s body was discovered inside a house in the Hawthorne Court area of Bangor, according to PSNI officers who responded to the scene.
The PSNI received a report of the woman’s death shortly after 5.30pm yesterday evening. Upon arrival, officers found the woman’s body in the living room of the property. Despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is scheduled to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court tomorrow. The PSNI spokesperson emphasized that inquiries are still in the early stages as authorities work to uncover the events leading up to the tragic incident.
