(Lebel-Sur-Quévillon) A 17-year-old driver lost her life in a road accident early Saturday afternoon in Nord-du-Québec.
The young woman was traveling southbound on Route 113 in Lebel-sur-Quévillon when she collided with a heavy truck around 1:30 p.m., reports the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
She would have made a turn to the left to join the chemin du Moulin without giving way to the driver of the truck who was traveling on the 113 in a northerly direction, explains the spokesperson for the SQ, Stéphane Tremblay.
The driver, originally from Lebel-sur-Quévillon, was transported in critical condition to hospital where her death was confirmed.
The driver of the truck was also taken to hospital for treatment for shock.
