Fans of the beloved Northern Irish band Snow Patrol have something exciting to look forward to. Following the departure of drummer Jimmy Quinn and bassist Paul Wilson last September, the band has undergone changes and is now a trio consisting of Gary Lightbody, Johnny McDaid, and Nathan Connolly.

The band is set to release their latest album, “The Forest Is The Path,” on September 13. Produced by Frasier T. Smith, the album features 12 tracks written by Lightbody, McDaid, and Connolly. Notable contributors to the songwriting process include Smith, Will Reynolds, Roy Kerr, and Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen. This album marks Snow Patrol’s first studio release in six years.

Their latest single, “The Beginning,” seems to touch on themes of loss, possibly reflecting the recent changes in the band’s lineup or Lightbody’s personal experiences. Described as an album rooted in reflection and introspection, “The Forest Is The Path” explores the concept of love from a distant perspective.

Speaking about the new single, Lightbody shared with NME, “The first day we wrote ‘The Beginning,’ start to finish. And he did the vocal in one take, straight after writing the lyrics. So it has this mind-collapsing quality to it where you feel like you’re seeing into someone’s soul.”

In anticipation of the album release, Snow Patrol has also announced a UK and Ireland tour scheduled for February next year. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Friday, June 7.

This exciting comeback marks a new chapter for Snow Patrol, honoring their past while embracing the present and looking towards the future. Fans can expect a fresh perspective and a renewed energy from the band as they embark on this journey together.
