In the past year, have settled so many of the British company in Germany. This shows a report of the economic development Agency Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI). Therefore, 168 companies from the United Kingdom to expand their capacities in Europe’s largest economy, or 34 percent more since the Referendum on the EU exit of the country in the summer of 2016.

According to GTAI-CEO Robert Hermann, 45 percent of these companies indicated that they increased mainly because of the Brexits or only exclusively in Germany to invest. “Many will appreciate the good conditions for a settlement. Also the size of the market and the situation within the EU, are a convincing Argument.”

More British, less Chinese companies

the GTAI Figures show, this also applies to other foreign investors. Together with the British company a total of 2.062 companies in Germany, settled in the past year. Most of the investment projects came from the USA (345), followed by Swiss companies (229 projects) and Chinese companies (188) – the latter fell from 2016 to 2018, a 33 percent increase.

Overall, according to GTAI recognized expert, Hermann, Germany “a popular investment location for foreign companies”. Among the most popular industries, particularly business and financial services, followed by the ICT and software sector, consumer goods as well as machinery and accessories. A third of the foreign investment concentrates in his commitment first to Marketing and sales activities, 17 percent of the companies use the information according to Germany as a production and research location.
