Nicolo Rocca and DF1 Racing will once again team up to chase the EuroNASCAR PRO title in the 2022 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. Their third season together will see them aiming to put the “red Tiger” with the number 22, at the top of EuroNASCAR’s premier championship.

According to the Chinese calendar, February 1st marks the beginning of a special year. It is the year of Tiger. DF1 Racing enters the crucial phase of next season in line with Chinese New Year celebrations. Rocca extended its contract, which is the first step to a successful campaign.

The Tiger is a symbol of courage, optimism and fighting spirit. Nicolo Rocca has proven that he is a true tiger since he joined DF1 Racing, in 2020. His fighting spirit and passion have been a testament to his abilities. The title contender was always in the Italian team’s first campaign. He finished 9th with two top-5s from nine starts. In 2021, he placed fourth overall with six top-5s during the 12-race season.
Nicolo Rodcca stated: “I am very happy to continue with DF1 racing. I am grateful for the trust Norbert Walchhofer (DF1 Racing’s Head of Motorsport) has placed in me and my abilities. I’m grateful for the trust I have received and I look forward to receiving a title.

Although last year was a great one, our goals are higher than just finishing in the top 5. We want to race for wins every weekend and fight for championships! I look forward to the start of the season, and working with the team again. “I want to thank DF1 and my personal sponsor Itarle, for their continued support!”

Norbert Walchhofer is Head of Motorsport at DF1 Racing. He said: “The decision was easy to extend the contract for Nicolo. He is an experienced PRO driver with the healthy ego, but he is also a teamplayer who assists his young colleagues to be successful. We believe that Nicolo can compete for EuroNASCAR Pro’s title. There is only one goal in 2022, after the second place finish in the team championship last year: To bring the title to Austria!
On April 9-10, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season will be broadcast live at the Hockenheimring. All races will be live streamed on EuroNASCAR social media profiles, Youtube, Facebook, Twitch and Motorsport.tv.
