(Saint-Clément) A woman in her thirties lost her life after driving her motorcycle off the road on Friday in Saint-Clément, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

It was on route 293, around 2 p.m., that the driver lost control of her vehicle, according to information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

She would have hit a guardrail and then been ejected from her motorcycle, according to the SQ.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured and transported by paramedics to a hospital center where he was pronounced dead.

“There is a police officer specialized in collision investigation who carried out the analysis of the scene. There is also a mechanical expertise that will be done on the motorcycle, “said SQ spokesperson Sergeant Hélène St-Pierre.

Route 293 was closed to traffic for several hours before reopening alternately.
