(Repentigny) A young man killed in nebulous circumstances on Saturday in Repentigny, in Lanaudière, is the subject of an investigation by the Crimes against the person section of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Youcef Khelil, 21, died of his injuries following an armed attack, said SQ spokeswoman Camille Savoie. It is not yet known under what circumstances he was attacked and whether he is known to police circles.
“Specialized investigators and forensic identification technicians are on scene to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this event,” said Ms. Savoie. Anyone with information about this event is asked to contact the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1-800-659-4264.
The Repentigny police are collaborating in the investigation.
The police had received a call around 4 a.m., about a seriously injured person on rue de Bernières.
