A man was stabbed to death following a conflict that escalated overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Laval.

According to information from the Laval police, the argument broke out in the middle of the night on rue Claude-Gagné, near Place Bell.

Arrived at the scene, the police assisted a 51-year-old man with stab wounds. Taken to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was known to the police community, but the investigators do not confirm that there is a link with the dispute.

The reasons for the conflict and the number of people involved are not known at this time. No arrests have been made.

The file has been seized by the crimes against the person investigators, who will try to shed light on the circumstances of the murder. A crime scene has been erected and will be combed through by the forensic identification squad.
