They worked for Donald Trump – and had no idea. That alone makes you shake your head. When a former aide of the former US President found out about the story that is probably about this Tuesday, he commented on it in a text message with the words: “What the f- is this?”

yes what is this The focus of the special session of the committee of inquiry into the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 could be the apparently explosive material of a British documentary filmmaker, Alex Holder has had access to Trump’s inner circle since September 2020.

He conducted interviews with both the President himself and Vice President Mike Pence and several of Trump’s family members. On January 6, Holder was at the Capitol, speaking with the President before and after the storming. For months, Holder and his film crew had unimpeded and direct access to Trump and his family. The contact was mediated by Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Holder, who lives in Los Angeles as a documentarist and producer, has made a three-part series from the roughly eleven-hour raw material, which will be shown on the Discovery Channel starting in the summer. The title “Insurrection” is best translated as “revolt”, “uprising” or “riot”. Trump has not attached any conditions to the project, says Holder. His motivation was to better understand the Trump presidency and why Trump is so desperate to cling to power.

After members of the January 6 investigative committee reviewed Holden’s footage, they called a special meeting for Tuesday at 1 p.m. local time. There is already a lot of speculation about the content. Ivanka Trump reportedly spoke sympathetically about her father’s attempts to undermine the outcome of the presidential election. There is also talk of an interview on Air Force One that Trump ended abruptly because the US President urgently wanted to speak to Vladimir Putin.

What is certain is that Holder’s material contains new images of the storming of the Capitol and interviews with Trump and members of his inner circle, which also deal with questions of voter fraud surrounding the November 2020 presidential election.

The committee is to clarify whether Trump knew that his allegations of voter fraud were false and that he had tried to steal the election against his better judgment. The Holder material could substantiate this suspicion and thus make both an investigation against Trump and a later indictment more likely.
