Another 04/01/20 Why Stalin’s daughter asked for asylum in the U.S.
As you know, Stalin died in 1953. After 3 years, Khrushchev issued his famous report on the personality cult of “great leader”. Even 5 years later, Stalin’s body was carried out of the mausoleum. All this time his daughter Svetlana lived in the USSR. However, in 1966 she decided to leave the country.

the Only daughter of Joseph Stalin and Nadezhda Alliluyeva Svetlana was born in 1926. She graduated with honors from one of the best schools in the capital, and then – historical faculty of Moscow state University and the graduate school. whatever it was, Svetlana Alliluyeva has lived in the U.S. for many years. There she once again got married, had a daughter and got a new name. Now her name Lana Peters. 2 years later Alliluyeva broke up with an American husband. In the early 1980s, Svetlana Iosifovna with her daughter moved to the UK. According to Alliluyeva, it is given in the “Book for my grandson”, it is there to it for the first time in 17 years got a son who remained in the Union. This event was the impetus for the return of Svetlana Iosifovna in the Soviet Union.
