Weightlifter Alexey Lovchev may miss the European championship

Heavyweight Alexey Lovchev served a suspension for violating anti-doping rules, will not be able to participate in the European championship in weightlifting. The athlete got injured at the Cup of Russia in St. Petersburg.

But it all depends on how serious his elbow injury, received in the second approach. During the week the athlete must undergo a medical examination. In advanced part of the men’s national team to participate in the European championship included 14 athletes: Oleg Musokhranov (weight category to 55 kg), Sergey Petrov (to 73 kg), Victor Goetz and Vyacheslav Yarkin (both up to 81 kg), Artem Okulov (85 kg), Roman Chepik (89 kg), Georgy Merchants and Khetag Khugaev (both to 96 kg), Alexander Kabanov (up to 102 kg), Rodion Bochkov, Timur Naniev and Fedor Petrov (all — to 109 kg), Antony Savchuk and Alexey Lovchev (both over 109 kg). In a final bid will include ten weightlifters.
