(Moscow) The death toll from a Ukrainian bombardment that targeted a Russian village in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine, has risen to four dead overnight, regional governor Alexander Bogomaz announced on Sunday.

Ukrainian missiles hit the village of Souzemka, located about ten kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border, according to Mr. Bogomaz. “Four civilians were killed,” he wrote on Telegram.

The initial toll communicated by the authorities reported two deaths.

The lifeless bodies of two other victims were extracted from the rubble of a house destroyed by the bombardment, explained the governor.

Localities and infrastructure in the Russian regions bordering Ukraine such as Briansk and Belgorod regularly suffer strikes attributed by Moscow to the Ukrainian army, without Kyiv claiming to be the author.

On Saturday, five villages in the Belgorod region were thus deprived of electricity after Ukrainian artillery fire.
