The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has congratulated on Saturday the winners of the first championship of League of fighting Sambo and the champion of the final battle of the evening in the weight category up to 100 kg Eugene club from St. Petersburg has received from hands of the President Cup.
“I sincerely want to thank everyone who organized today’s event and, of course, athletes, guys, gifted, courageous, beautiful, with a real male character. Today there are no losers — all of them on the podium. I congratulate you,” said Putin at the end of the championship.
He noted that Sambo is a spectacular and dynamic sport that was created of the best elements of national kinds of struggle of the peoples of the USSR, and combat Sambo, which was developed as a special kind of training special forces intelligence, counterintelligence and Department of defense, today is becoming a mass sport. “I am sure that combat section will not just be noticeable, but will be loved by thousands of people in our country and abroad”, — said the President.
Declaration on the establishment of the League of combat Sambo was signed on Saturday in anticipation of the start of the championship. Signatures under the document have put the President of the League Arkady Rotenberg, President of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) Vasily Shestakov, as well as the heads of all the continental federations of Sambo. The tournament was attended by 14 strongest athletes of the Junior national team of Russia on combat Sambo. Among them, 11 masters of sports, and three candidates for master of sports, winners and prize-winners of superiority of Russia on combat Sambo Championships 2019. Meetings were held in seven weight categories — 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 74 kg, 82 kg, 90 kg and 100 kg.
In category to 57 kg was won by wrestlers from Tatarstan Nurullo Mahmadov..Armen Tadevosyan from Moscow, Mozhaisk won in the category up to 62 kg In the category up to 68 kg became the champion Dmitriy Sirenko from the city of Engels (Saratov region). In category to 74 kg the victory was celebrated by Michael Konovalov from St. Petersburg. In the category up to 82 kg reward took Zalim Kerimov, also from Saint Petersburg.In category to 90 kg was the strongest Muscovite Temirlan Mackiev. Finally, in the weight category up to 100 kg became the champion of St. Petersburg Evgenii Dubina.
Vladimir Putin has the title of master of sport in Sambo and has repeatedly called for competition in this kind of challenges. –0–**
