After 26 years of marriage, the Klitschko couple are no longer a couple. Vitali Klitschko confirmed this to the “Bild” newspaper. Most recently, they had a long-distance relationship between Kyiv and Hamburg.
Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, currently lives in Ukraine, while the former professional swimmer takes care of their three children in the Hanseatic city.
Now they have filed for divorce together, reports Vitali Klitschko to “Bild”. “We have a very good relationship with each other and respect each other, but we have been living separately in different cities for a long time.” This is now to be made official.
It was not until March that Natalia told the “NDR Talkshow” that she was in daily contact with her husband. Her children would ask about their dad every day, they knew about their father’s concerns.
Together with her children, she is currently trying to lead a normal life in Germany. However, the feelings of guilt remained. “You feel guilty because you’re safe here and the people we love are in Ukraine and are fighting for us.”
