Since the start of the Ukraine war, Western governments have begun freezing assets belonging to Russian elites. The oligarch Suleiman Kerimov is also on the sanctions list. The entrepreneur’s net worth is estimated at $12.7 billion.
According to US authorities, Kerimov’s $300 million yacht “Amadea” was among the items confiscated so far. The 106 meter long ship was tracked down in the Fiji Islands and towed from there to the port of San Diego.
During the search, the officials made a remarkable discovery, according to a report by the US broadcaster “CNN”: a Russian Fabergé egg. If the egg is real, it could be worth millions of dollars. Only 63 of the collector’s items were produced for the Russian royal family and other nobles from 1885 onwards.
