The court announced on Wednesday that a further five days of negotiations were scheduled until November 23. Feldmann only announced his resignation from office for the end of January 2023 on Tuesday.

On June 10, the large majority of the city council asked the mayor to resign in connection with the scandal surrounding the former management of the AWO district association in Frankfurt.

On March 24, the public prosecutor’s office brought charges against Feldmann on suspicion of taking advantage. The Lord Mayor used his influence to get his wife hired as manager of an AWO day-care center “without any objective reason” at a salary above the collective agreement with an otherwise unusual company car.

In addition, there should have been an agreement with the AWO that they collected donations for his 2018 election campaign and received goodwill for their interests. (epd)
